Default Merc Trans - Any demand or Value

Hi guys,
I just thought I would ask if there was any value to the older style Merc Trans. I have two of them with just over 300 hours that were the originals in my 78 Spectra. I changed over to BW-C72's and have a couple of spares of those also. I had them on the board a couple of times for sale without much interest. They have all the orignal equipment with them and are in great shape. They are the electric shift ones and I have the flex plates also. Someone on the board said they had value to the right individual but I thought I would ask others. They worked flawlessly however I was told that with the additional power I have added that I was possibly asking for trouble so I never gave it a thought to use them. Now I just have them sitting here. I would sell them for a very fair price if anyone could use them. They were behind the boats original 454/330's and I am the second owner.

Thanks for the heads up.

John

Do a serch on Ebay you can find out what they are going for. I am going to guess that they are worth about 500 bucks or so?

That's about right on. Usually see them for 4-6 hundred. They are worth something to the right person who needs one. They haven't made them sinse the early 80's and most of the parts are NLA from merc. The right person would be more than happy to pay that for one. They were used in a lot of house boats with TR drives besides runabouts with TRS's.
