Default 1993 454 Mag Piston Rings

I'm needing help with finding the right rings for my motor, ordered what Summit said was the right rings, but the oil ring is not right. The pistons are 14097021. I need standard bore rings, does anyone have any part numbers or info on where to get them? Thank you.

Are they the metric rings? If not and they are standard rings, then are they 5/64", 5/64", 3/16" or are they 1/16", 1/16", 3/16"???
Do you want fitted (pre-gapped) rings or do you want file fit rings???

ks,
Are the oil rings too "deep" for the groove in the piston ? The only two sets of rings I see are the same except one uses a shallow oil ring. If that is what you need the Hastings number is 2M4718 I can cross the piston number over on Mondya AM at the shop if you have not received a good answer before then.

Default Thanks Guys

Yes the oil ring hangs out of the gap to far, need a swallow oil ring compared to what I have. Summit sent me Speed Pro Plasma Part# R-9905 which hangs out. I would like a pre fit set. You might cross referecence if you dont mind. Thanks again guys. Brock

Brock,
Sounds like the Hastings 2M4718 is what you need. They are for the shallow ring groove. I can get a set drop shipped to you if that will help. Give me a shout Monday AM if you wish. 301-843-5700 or send me an e-mail [email protected]

Brock,
I called you and left a message today but figure I would post here for everyones benefit. Those pistons use a 5/64 5/64 3/16 ring package but they do have the shallow oil ring groove so the Hastings 2M4718 ring set is the correct one.

I just ordered the C8174 Total Seal conventional ring set from Summit. They are due in on 5/9 so I will let you know if they fit. They are 5/64 5/64 3/16 TSS with the shallow oil ring.
