Hey guys we are experiencing a very weird situation with our power steering pump and we lost the belt once and caught the pump on fire.it's on a 496ho with 120hrs on it..we just got I serviced by prestige marine in lake Havasu city and the boat ran perfect for 2 days and then all of a sudden we see the power steering bottle empty and fluid everywhere..what could possibly cause this any ideas?

so i got a call the the mechanic today and he said the power steering pump blew the front seal from the pump?...anyone have idea why this could of happened twice now?

Too much tension on the pulley?

did they replace the p/s pump when it caught fire? if not then the heat from the fire probably did a number on the seal...replace the p/s pump and cooler..
