Default Engine builder question Help!!!!!

I have dart tall deck with dart intake. What is the proper distributor height and amount of rotor shaft freeplay? I was told that as long as the rotor moved up and down a bit, it was ok. If you can help me with any info you can call me at 516-244-4155. THANKS, Joe

The way I understand the set up is measure down to the top of the oil pump shaft to the top of the manifiold where the dist. sits. Then you have to have .010 to .030 ths. clearence. If you go to www.msd.com an look at there dist. instructions it will explain. the only real way is to check the wear pattern on the gear.
