Just wondering if anybody knows anything about whipple industries new pcm upgrades for mercury racing engines. I have a merc racing 525efi that I would to see some more power out of, but not another 200hp with the supercharged setup. Its on the whipple website saying coming soon... so just wondering if anybody has an idea of when and what that is.
Thanks,

We reprogram PCM555's every day on Mercruiser engines.
I have taken careful looks at the spark and fuel timing files on the Merc Racing programming in the PCM555 for the HP525EFI and I don't see any power that could be added through programming without a risk to the mechanical well being of the engine and the proven reliability of this engine.
I would not recommend a change to this program unless you have definite mechanical changes in mind for this engine. There is no real hidden power locked up in the HP525efi program, this is our knowledgeable belief. Its a different story on the supercharged engines like to 600,700,850, 1075 since the boost is electronic and it can be computer increased to produce more power.
Just our input here as someone who does PCM 555 reporgramming.
Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
