Where to START! Breaker keeps flipping OFF
WTF, I pulled a couple of wires for new my oil temp gauge sensors and now my port IGNITION breaker keeps flipping off when I turn the key on. I did not touch any RED hot wires. When I pulled the wires I must of caused this problem.
Where do you start looking for the short in the process??
The ignition switch has three wires.
Great way to start the weekend 95 degrees and I am stuck on the dock of the bay
I unplugged the purple wire wires(2) on one pole with a white stripe and now the engine starts but gauges have no power. So I guess start unhooking each gauge one by one???

how did you hook up the gauges? what brand ? you should not even be pulling off the ignition Switch ....Purple on the Gauges is the hot feed to the new gauge ...the wire from the sender goes to the other Terminial marked "S" ...

I don't have the gauges hooked up. I wanted to start the engines to make sure my new water pressure gauges did not have a leak.
One wire purple branches off to emergency start button. I pulled that, same results. Keep flowing the purple/white stripe wire and it been spliced into with a BLACK wire. It looks like someone has messed with it before. ARG its under the dash, under the steering wheel.

Emergency Start? you mean Stop? If so thats prob a gnd to kill the ignition ......Just jump off an existing Gauge (purple) to the I terminal on the Gauge ...then the wire from the sender goes to the S terminal on the Gauge ... If there is a positive and negitive terminal on the Gauge ..those are for lighting only ....m

No I have an emergency start button which pulls power from the staroard batteries by a Solenoid, its factory stuff. I am just going to have to follow the wire one connection at a time. Just VENTING unless someone else has a better idea.
Unfortunately the port engine runs the gas gauge and so on.
