Question Power Steering turns left, but very hard to turn right??

I have the stock cable steering running into the mercruiser power steering unit.

Installed a new cable, much better.

Changed the valve on the power steering pump.

Still, no luck.

Any idea's??

what year is the boat? does it have the saginaw valve on the powersteering ram? is the zinc trim tab down by the prop there?
If it is the saginaw valve it will feed back steering torque, adj the trim zinc, it may help. which ever way the boat is pulling, move the back of the zinc in that direction.

It's a 1990, its not the steering torque, its only at parking speeds.

The zinc plate I have is the flat one, non-adjustable and clears the prop as well.

Yes,

he stated it was a 1990, which is most likely the older style. He will need new steering hoses also, or find a way to adapt them, as the unit currently available has different size hose fittings.
