Default Tach Wiring Question

I have old gauges in my boat from ~1985. Neither tach is working so I think it is a wiring issues.

I have never wired a tach. Does anyone have a diagram or can explain the power needs.

Here is what I was going with

Control Signal (negative from coil)
Ground
Power for gauge light

Am I missing anything?

Thanks

You need power for the light and power for the tach. They will be 2 different locations on the guage. Will look similiar to the fallowing image.
