Default Props

I have a 1998 Scarab 22 with a hopped up 454 that makes about 450 horsepower. Right now i am running a 27 pitch mirage prop but i can only get about 67 mph out of it at about 5000 rpm. Are there any other props I should try or anything I can do to get more speed since that is only two miles an hour faster and the same rpms I was running with a 25 pitch mirage. By the way the boat is also for sale or trade if anyone is interested. Thanks.

Your propslip numbers are really high. Are they Mirage's or Mirage plus props???
I would try a 26 Bravo 1 4 blade.

I have a 22ft Crownline that has a 7.4 whippled mag running 540hp with the same prop and can only see 65ish as well, the boat came with 2 27P Mirage plus props one that is on it is a break away? and the other is a solid mount? This is what the previos owner told me anyway. I have not tried the other prop but he sais its faster with the solid but ran the other because of the shallow lakes and channels in the area, does any of that sound right? I was told to run a Bravo 1 26P 4 blade as well, my rpms are at 5k as well. What is max rpm for a 7.4 mag? and whats propslip? I am new to the fast boat scene. Sorry for jackin the thread!

Your boat might be a good candidate for the IMCO -2" lower.
