Trim tab selection
Noob to the fast boat scene and although I dont have a fancy speed hull boat I do have a nice 97 Crownline 225CCR with a 7.4 MAG with worked heads and a whipple running around 530-540HP with a B1 spinning a 27P Mirage + 3B. My question is I have been directed twards trim tabs to get the boat to plane faster and a little less white knuckle in large chop and high speeds. Boat has done 74 on GPS with previos owner but I myself have only seen 65....so far. I want to buy a nice set of tabs but not carzy $, I have been looking at Dana Marine LT500 setups, they say for boats up to 24ft but not exceeding 65MPH, would I be ok with them since the boat wont see much over 65MPH on average? Also what size suits my 22.5 ft boat? Any input would help.
