I just did the alpha to bravo conversion on my 242 formula and nothing but the trim pump on the alpha will work. Unless you have time to find deals expect to spend at least $2000-2500 for everything.
Shifter and cables?

My 454/Alpha combo has been on my boat since 1987. No problems (knock on wood).

Someone told me today that the cones on the bravos are easier to get in/out of gear, making docking much more enjoyable.

As mentioned ,I have payed 2.500 usd for the whole conversion,including 4 23"Mirage props,complete bravos,4 lever shifters flywheel housings,inner transom plates ,engine couplers....
Think I made a good deal overhere...I dont live in the US...
Finally I have peace of mind,or I hope so
