Question K/N Filter setup?

I picked up my K/N filter set up today, for my 2000 502 Mag Mpi My only question before I go to the boat and install this, The adapter, has no gasket, do I just bolt this right to the engine with no gasket? Seems to me if there is an air leak I will have a crappy idle?

Thanks in advance!

Summer time is comin !

i wouldn't worry too much on the filter side. missing a gasket on the manifold side would cause some funky idle.

No gasket when I installed mine a few weeks ago.

I picked it up at TRENTON MARINE.COM . Think it was like $129 with adapter have to look at reciept I bought a ton of stuff that day.
Ok my next question is what do I do with the black rubber hose coming from the valve cover into the stock flame arrestor? just let it lay there, or can I get a k/n screw in breather for that as well?

i've seen breathers and k&n adapters to work with the new filter. either way should be fine. the adapters would be cheaper.

I bought my K&N filter and the adapter from Rex Marine. The filter came with the adapter tube attached to the side of the filter, so all you had to do was push it on. I paid $150.00 for the Billet Aluminum adapter and the K&N filter. The adapter is black to match the original motor color.
