Ok, so this might be a little late but I'm in the middle of doing this right now (454 winter upgrades) and this is what I did.
I went with a hp-6 filter head that mounts to the back of my port cylinder head. I also bought the summit -12 twist-tite fittings and blue hose to replace the oil lines while I was relocating the filter.
