found that the riser gasket was leaking a bit and at idle cyls 5&7 were getting a bit of water causing incomplete burn. Raise above idle and the engine was able to clear the water and run fine. Got lucky. weird thing is the plugs showed no water.

At least it was not a expensive fix, congrats on that, just a headache figuring it out
