Default Raylar 550

I'm anxious to see some real world feedback on the Raylar 550 small block like shown in Powerboat a while back. I'd like to see what three of those would do for a 42ft or 47ft Fountain. Three would save 1500 lbs.over the big blocks. If they could get the boat balance where it needed to be it seems to me it would have to be faster than three 525 EFI's because it would be 1500 lbs lighter at the same or better power.

Anyone seen any tests results anywhere with any boat and those engines ?

Raylar would not recommend the application of the LSM550's for this type of upgrade for three obvious reasons:
In larger hulls with doubles or triples, the larger length and weights of these hulls require more torque than the LSM's can provide.
The very large weight reduction is a positive for most performance boats, but these hulls are set up for the weights of the big blocks and the balance and CG of these boats would be adversely affected with such a large back of boat weight reduction.
The lighter weights of the LSM should be carefully considered and applied to any new boat build or repower project so as to not adversely affect boat balance and torque needs.

Best Regards,
