Default Got my Crane ignition in.....tack wire???

The tack wire from the Crane box is green. Which wire on the Merc wiring harness does it go to?? Can't go to the coil, running the Crane coil.

Waterfoul - I'm 99% sure the grey wire is your tach. I've done two and they work great.

Mike,
Just put one in myself, it is the gray wire. Relocated the original Merc amp and kept the old rotor. Just switch a couple of wires around and pop the cap and presto, spare ignition system. Be sure to ground the Crane coil well. If you don't your tach will freak out. If you still have tach problems install a 0 to 10k ohm pot in line with the tach signal wire and trim until tach works.

Have fun drilling the rotor! You should not have to change the timing, just put the drilled rotor in and your timing will be spot on.
