Engine ident

I have a chance to get a a stock 454 from a 1994 -3/4 ton truck. Any idea wht gen it would be? What heads would be on it? Any help here would be great thanks.

Should be gen V non roller with peanut heads. Get casting #s and check Mortec.com to be sure.

It should be peanut port heads. The Vortec heads started in 1996, I think. I had a 1993 Chevy Dually with one and it was pretty weak.

The mortec site has been down for a while.
