My 1990 Baja 210 Sport is 20' 10" long and weighs around 2800 lbs. It has a 700 plus HP 13:1 compression 496" BBC and my best speed is 97.8 MPH on GPS. With 550 HP my boat would probably be somewhere in the low 80's. I have seen Caravelles around, but didn't realize they are capable of attaining those kinds of speeds with small block HP. Hell there aren't to many cat hulls that can go that fast with that little HP. You must be doing something right. Be sure to be careful!!!

Holy S**T, I think I need to sell my 900HP 632 Merlin and go with a blown small block set-up on my 3800# cat. Hell @101 I would be running the same speed. I could put some more $$$ back into the market. What is the make and model of that gps...I need to put one of those in.

Volvo 5.7GXi 315 4600 - 5000 14 3/4 x 21 SS 59-63 MPH
Mercury 6.2 MPI 320 4800 - 5200 13 3/4 x 21 SS 59-63 MPH
Well looking at the Chart we can see a 1 MPH Increase from 20 Hp (350 Mag-6.2 MPI) Doing the Math 100 MPH = 37 MPH Increase or 37 x 20 = 740 HP now that extrapolation works if all things remain the same. Like air and water friction ! but the bad news is they do not!! So a factor would have to be added to that number.
