Also a when I am cruising @ 2500rpm about 40mph I am only running 1-2lbs of boost so 99% of the time I never see that 9psi.
I also average about 6 1/2 mpg at cruise and at wot I get soiled in my pants fuel economy

I thought you said you ran that small block Volvo at 101mph before you backed out? Now I am really confused...

Your video shows you going about 57~58 mph...according to the speedo...

Default Damn, that hull must be pretty fast!!!

My 1990 Baja 210 Sport is 20' 10" long and weighs around 2800 lbs. It has a 700 plus HP 13:1 compression 496" BBC and my best speed is 97.8 MPH on GPS. With 550 HP my boat would probably be somewhere in the low 80's. I have seen Caravelles around, but didn't realize they are capable of attaining those kinds of speeds with small block HP. Hell there aren't to many cat hulls that can go that fast with that little HP. You must be doing something right. Be sure to be careful!!!

Wette Vette...he talked this BS on another site as well...said AZ Speed and Marine did the upgrades and he ran 101MPH before he had "to back out"...

all on a small block...

Hey…if it’s true, more power to him…

Just ask KOOK about a 90+ 24 foot boat…

Holy S**T, I think I need to sell my 900HP 632 Merlin and go with a blown small block set-up on my 3800# cat. Hell @101 I would be running the same speed. I could put some more $$$ back into the market. What is the make and model of that gps...I need to put one of those in.

232 Performance Chart
Engine HP Max RPM Range Standard Prop Est. top speed
Mercury 5.0L 220 4400 - 4800 14 1/4 x 21 alum 45-47 MPH
Volvo 5.0GL 220 4400 - 4800 14 1/4 x 21 alum 45-47 MPH
Mercury 5.0efi 240 4400 - 4800 14 1/4 x 21 alum 46-48 MPH
Volvo 5.0Gi 250 4600 - 5000 14 1/4 x 21 alum 46-48 MPH
Mercury 5.7L 250 4400 - 4800 14 1/4 x 21 alum 52-55 MPH
Volvo 5.7GS 250 4400 - 4800 14 1/4 x 21 alum 52-55 MPH
Mercury 5.7efi 260 4400 - 4800 14 1/4 x 21 alum 53-56 MPH
Volvo 5.7GSi 280 4600 - 5000 14 1/4 x 21 alum 54-57 MPH
Mercury 350Mag 300 4600 - 5000 13 3/4 x 21 SS 58-62 MPH
Volvo 5.7GXi 315 4600 - 5000 14 3/4 x 21 SS 59-63 MPH
Mercury 6.2 MPI 320 4800 - 5200 13 3/4 x 21 SS 59-63 MPH

Well looking at the Chart we can see a 1 MPH Increase from 20 Hp (350 Mag-6.2 MPI) Doing the Math 100 MPH = 37 MPH Increase or 37 x 20 = 740 HP now that extrapolation works if all things remain the same. Like air and water friction ! but the bad news is they do not!! So a factor would have to be added to that number.
