Default Weiand 177 Height

I've been trying to find this all afternoon, and I'm sure someone knows this off of the top of their head.

Can someone tell me the height difference between a 454 with an average intake on it (the 370/420 carb intake to be exact) vs a 177 blower?

I'm looking for the number of inches that the blower will raise the top of the carb, and trying to figure out if a 177 will fit beneath the hatch of a 377 staggard Scarab, TRS setup.

Thanks!

I'm thinking about 8", but that depends on the intake you have now if you had a dart might be only 6"

That sounds about right, but I have heard that the 177's are shorter blowers and I have been told that there's only about a 4-6" height difference from a Performer style intake. I was hoping to get some sort of confirmation on that.

I would tend to think "will it fit?" would be one of the most commonly asked Q's about a blower, but I can't find the info anywhere on Weiand or Holley's website (or Summitt or anywhere else for that matter...).

An additional 6" of clearance and it should fit with no problem. Make sure you have that much clearance at the front and back of the flame arrestor.

CP - that's PERFECT. Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for.

I think you're right Griff. I think the intake that is on there now is around 4" to 4.5" from the bottom of the valley to the top of the intake. It looks like adding the 177 adds about another 6' or so, perfect!
