Mobil 1 Oil 15 - 40 wt
any body using Mobil 1 Oil 15 - 40 wt in trucks or heavy equiptment ? been using Rotella in the 7.3s DT -466s ,semis, 6 wheelers & heavy equipt .. Caterpillar salesman stopped in 2day and mentioned to the boyz to switch to Mobil 1 in all deisel applications thats all there using in all there equipt now ..used Mobil 1 in the V-tail Bonanza years back and lost a motor and mobil 1 bought the new motor & a few others at our local airport :eek: have had great luck with rotella in the past :drink:

You can't run typical automotive oils is a plane's engine.
They are two different engine applications and need two completley different additive packages. Never run airplane oil in a boat. Ken |

Airplane engines run at steady state operation and with a metallic detergent package, (as found in auto oil) you run the risk of ash build up on your plugs. If you generate enough ash your plug will foul. OK at sea level but kinda exiciting at 5,000 feet.
Aero oils have organic dertergents to prevent the ash build up, but, they do cause more engine wear which is why a plane's engine rebuils is much sooner than a cars. My 2 cents. Ken |

i didn't know that mobile 1 made a synthetic 15w40, i know they make a syn 5w40 for trucks that worked great on the newer fords and dodges..as for regular delvac 15w40,that's all i use in the diesel trucks i work on if they dont want the synthetic oil..BTW in the winter the engines crank over allot easier with the 5w40 syn oil.

My brother owned a v-tail Bonanza. What a great aircraft. It ran circles around the Cessna 182 I was flying with almost the same engine. My understanding was that the Mobil One had a problem with the lead level in 100LL. They did step up unlike most companies.

Awesome aircraft Big daddy we left New Lenox Il and landed in Marathon fl in 6 hrs 15 mins and yes they bought a huge amount of engines 11 at our airport alone .as long as paperwork was filled out by certified aero mechanic they foot the bill .:drink: |
