The engine should be run on a dyno to verify ecm program. Mark is one of the best but the only way to make sure that your not going to have a melt down is to dyno tune. Should be a great package for you. Look at the dyno as an insurance policy. Your going to have a lot of money in some parts, how big of a risk do you want to take?

Do the bores have taper or scoring? If not you may not need to go 30 over.

Bores are in not bad shape, but the builder has decided to go .30 over...

It would be nice to dyno the motor but there is only one dyno on the island where I live and it is not really set up for marine engines.....although we could probably make it work, second problem is to have somebody actually tune it while on the dyno.....this is not a high performance boat "repair" area...lol Although the actually boating is awesome....

I agree, dyno time will help get the tune in the ball park for use in the boat. And then, some engines need to be tweeked again once in the boat and on the water. Maybe a PIA but in the end, cheap insurance.
