Here's another Merc /Brunswick saga that really pi$$ed me off to no end ... I bought a "new" 2001 boat (leftover, with < 25 hrs of demo time on the boat/engines) in May, 2005. I was 1st retail customer of the package: boat/engines/trailer. I sent the warranty cards in for the engines (a pair of 500EFI's) and got a "Dear John" letter from Merc Racing. I subseqently called them and asked WTF ( in a more polite manner, though) and they said the engines were now "non-current" engines and therefore would not honor their 1 year warranty to 1st retail owner .... was really "not happy", but what could I do? Fountain said "no problem, just send in your warranty card". Myco said the same thing, too ... "no problem, thank you for buying our product, if you need anything, let us know". Fortunately, I had no problems with anything in that package that I felt needed "warranty" coverage. Don't mean to hijack this header discussion, so back to their headers ....

Hope that helps clear it up.

I'm pretty sure the later ones were called "cool collar", but that might be the CMI's nomenclature for it.

They come back like this!

Oh, c'mon. That's my favorite subject. (As well as the main subject of about a thousand other threads...)

Rocker Doun - As you can see, you are just the latest in a long line of 525 customers to find yourself in this position. It's a shame there are so few inexpensive options...

How about the 600 SCi's or 700 Sci's. There headers look the same-are they?
