Default Anyone have Keith Eickert cast headers?

Cant solve my reversion issues... my Gil manifolds with shorty pipes sucked back like a Hoover so I bought a different brand of tubulars with the water dumps at the ends of the tailpipes 4" outside the transom(over 2 feet from the collectors)" you can still see it trailing back even at 1250 rpms so much it's mixing with my oil.I'm told the previous owner of my motor used Keith E.cast headers with no issues but has since sold them and do not want to go to a dry system or change my cam.I would pay anyone to let me try their K.E. headers for a few days in my driveway and possibly buy them if in good cond... bb chevy style 600hp capable. My KEs reverted until I extended the dry section to the end of the tips. Now 95% of the reversion is gone. I run bravo length tails and 731cams in a sc application. I don't think the exhaust is your problem. I would wonder if the cam was indexed in properly and/or the condition of the exhaust valves might be at fault?

just had Nickerson Performance checkout the motor and dyno it ...ran fine on the stand with a dry exhaust same hp figures as previous owner claimed so I,m assuming the valve train is ok.

May need to degree the cam different, im running a 741 crane cams making 600hp in my 500 hps and with gill exhaust with the tall tails and i had a issue last year with reversion and then this spring we turned the cams 4 degrees and no issues this past summer and made more power.

Do you remember if you adv or ret the cam and was that trial and error I've never done it before but have a degree wheel and can borrow a dial indicator. Also love my low end torque did it hurt that?

You want to advance the cam. The result will be a lower torque curve which is typically favorable in a boat anyway. You will have more power at lower rpms. The important first step will be to degree the cam and see where it is vs recommend ICL. It may be erroneously retarded and indexing it straight up or 2 degrees advanced might cure the issue.

Glad to hear that did the trick for you resteiny
