Default Lower Unit heights

I have a Chris Cat with Gill Brackets anf Mercury outboards
The bracket is a 26 " offset from the back of the boat (26" bracket)
How high off of the bottom does the center of the prop shaft need to be?

If youe looking for speed the try and find a set of jack plates to raise your engines up and down hydrolicly..you may need a set of low water pick ups also to get a higher engine height with out over heating the motors..

id rather not mess with 4 jack plates, it wasn't raced with them in the past also if I put them on I would need to rewire (wires will be too short), I just don't see any witness marks on the brackets

I thought there would be a formula for figuring it out at least to get me into the ball park

the boat will be used for general purpose buzzing around / poker runs, maybe a race or 2

the lowers have low water pick ups as well as pickups on the back of the boat
