I am looking for instructions to install sea strainers. I have a 2000 35' Fountain Classic with 500 hp's. Pictures would be a great help - Are they difficult to install and what brand do you recommend.
Thanks

Quite simple in concept, you take the hose that directs water from the outdrive to your seawater pump. Cut it or replace it or whatever you need to do to put the seastrainer inline with this hose before the pump. Also you should put a 3 way selector valve inline before the strainer in order to shut it off when cleaning. The 3rd port on the valve should be piped down to the bilge. This way if you spring a leak you can turn this valve on to empty the bilge, this would be in addition to the bilge pump under emergency conditions. However many have no valve at all and just let the water flow when lid is poped off.
Many manufactures:
Gil
Marine Machine
Eddie Marine
Stainless Marine
I have the Gil's they are fine but not the best looking.
