NO they are washing their hands of the issue and LEAVING ME OUT TO DRY!!!! I had, at their request, a in the water running computer data recording done by a dealer, sent TO THEM!! There response...Take it to a dealer, IT WAS AT A DEALER. Upon recpt of the data.....I DUNNO>>>Dammit thats not good enough!! Now the engine is on the DYNO at the best facility on the west coast. The word is teardown to chase the problem WITH NO HELP FROM MERCURY the RACING GODS

Call them. make a claim. get rebuild estimates. pay your deductable. Eat the "depreciation" or whatever other bs they throw at you and get it done. And continue to make noise about mercury. They do know when they get bad press on these boards and they don't like it. They may not do any more but at least your getting the word out. |

You checked about as much as you could to find something, but you say all is norm? Maybe a valve guide seal is bad on an intake valve. |

Just a thought, if both motors are out of warrenty you could try swapping parts (fuel pump, regulator, injectors, etc...) between the two motors and see if the problem follows. Just because it tests good on the bench doesn't always mean it's good to go. Also who was doing the tests... the same guys saying " I dunno"?

check the vaccum line going to the regulator and see if fuel or fuel odor is present = leaking regulator diaphram

+1 Also might check the vent line off the lift pump ( fuel pump mounted on the sea pump assy) for pushing fuel. |
