Make sure you block sand the epoxy, it's harder than the cast aluminum. I used the epoxy to fill in the nose cone to lower unit, I had to use a belt sander to get it close, it was like sanding steel.

Some nose cones come with the epoxy. I know hydromotives do. Should be able to do them both in a 2-3 days with drying-sanding-painting.

My drive have slots in them for low water pick up how does the nose cones work with that do i need to cut slots to match or what.

How thick can you put on the Sea Goin Poxy Putty? And how well does it apply/smooth out with a typical applicator?
