Thunderbolt V
I have a Baja equiped with the Thunderbolt V ingnition and have had problems with it fireing correctly. A long story short I replaced the dist. with an HEI unit i had in the shop. I have head that the Thunderbolt dist. will cut ingnition to the motor when the out drive is put into gear to save on trearing up the out drive. Is this true? If it is true is there a HEI that will do the same? Just upgraded the HP on my 454 and would hate to damage the Bravo... Thanks for any help

Is the module ok on your TB V? I would be interested if its a mag (5300 RPM limit) module. [email protected]

Hei
Sorry for the late post but have had some heartache with my boat. Have developed a tap form the block that sounds like a wrist pin. Yes it is a auto HEI which i know is not for marine apps but it was what i had to solve a problem. After replacing the dist, form the Thunderbolt dist. all the problems went away. I'm pretty sure after troubleshooting the system I know what the problem is but i would hate to be wrong and waist all that money. looks to be cheaper to get a marine HEI. Thanks for the info on the Alfa drives cutting ignition.
