Default Scoop location?

Just curious if there is an ideal location for a scoop. Some place it slightly infront of the carburator, some directly over it. What is the general concensus?
I'm about to install a scoop over a new carbed engine for a class 6 OPA racer.
Thanks for your responses.

Mine is above. I really dont think it mattter at all though. Its for clearance and air flow, doesnt affect performance at all. There is no ram effect or low pressure zone created by them. i would put it where it looks best and gives you the clearance you need.
