As mentioned B dock is where it ALL happens !!!!!!! If you have the kid's with you I would try Miller's , a little more family freindly. B dock is a great party just not for the faint of heart. :party-smiley-020: Just saying

If you're staying in a condo you might not want to leave your boat where it all happens. Why not sleep on the boat? There are nice bathroom and shower facilities and stores for boaters.

It might be tough to get a spot at PIB without staying all weekend. Since you will have a slip on middle bass I would reccomend taking the Sonny S. over to party, rather than coming on the Fountain. That way your boat doesn't get stuck at PIB and you can use it during the day to explore the lake.

Once we tie up Friday on B-dock, we are usually stuck til Monday with boats tied all around us. Once you get up there once and see how it all works it will make much more sense.

You will really enjoy the condo, it will be a relaxing weekend. Next time stay on the boat and join the party :drink:

There is nothing wrong with leaving the boat at the state docks. I have done it many times. Never once has anyone disrespected the boat, the dock hands will keep a good eye on it and notify you if anything is wrong. I have left my boat at the dock and not even been on the island before.

OK, I go during the week when it's not so crazy. I'm just saying that if this is the party dock and boats are rafting up I would not leave my boat there. I dock at the Boardwalk. They will be full for Memorial day week-end. BTW, what happened to the musical air horns last year? We didn't hear them at all last summer.

Looks like the weather may be pretty good this weekend. Chance of rain on Friday and Saturday but Sunday and Monday look very nice in mid 70's. Friday cant get here fast enough.

Just to let all you ohioans know, i seen my first cloudy day last sat. My dad pulled in from ohio. He must of brought the clouds with him. I do hope for good weather for you guys though. Youll be back for labor fountain. Enjoy

If we have Sh!tty weather that weekend I might loose my mind. This is the worst spring I remember in a LONG time.

Fountain - I will be at the catawba island boat ramp around 330 or 4. I'll be by myself since my wife has to work. Maybe I'll see you up there.

Yea im taking mine (red baja) but taking the slow ride over with a couple cruisers following. We will probably end up on C dock or next dock over at foxes. We might consider B dock. Im trying to get my 25 tied off the cruisers which I think B dock is a little bit stricter about.
What time are you guys heading over? We are talking about going somwhere between 11-1 on Friday.
Not sure where im launching (usally do Muzuriks) my friend wants me to come by Gem Beach which I think is over by the state park launch.

I'm hoping to make it over at some point during the weekend.

Heading over Saturday would be pushing it for the amount of stuff I still need to put back together, Sunday looks doable tho.

Anybody that heads over Friday feel free to update this thread via phone as far as docking availabilty, etc.

I won't be over there until early evening Friday. Usually if you are in a group the B dock guys will let you tie off the cruisers. Only time they might not is if they have a 45' boat on the wall, they won't tie a 24' up to it in case another 40+ shows up. If you get an end spot, or are with a group it's usually no big deal.

I'm heading over Sunday morning about 10:30 from Sandusky. First time to the Bay. Anything I should be aware of?

Just pay attention to the harbor entrance as stated earlier. All the docks in town are first come first serve with mandatory rafting. If the weather is good, the earlier you get there, the better.

Did everyone survive? We finally made it to Kelly's yesterday. There was some nice hardware at the Casino.

We had a great time! Very thankful for the good weather also.

Little bit of rain, but it was a great weekend. The heavy stuff just missed us.

I managed to finally get there around 8:30 Sunday night after that last storm went through.

I remember about the first hour being there....the rest is a blur :drink:
