Default to lube or not to lube

Do you lube the seal on an oil filter with oil before installing. IM assuming so, but dont want to make a mistake.

Yes put some oil on it with your finger

thanks thats what I thought, but first time with a go faster and ensuring I do the right thing so it doesnt cost me later

Just a light coat you dont want it dripping off

And if you can fill the oil filter with new oil before you put it on.
