Trippin,,,thanks for the photo that made me jealous-----and Griff---yes she only does 53mph---so now is the time to upgrade---however, I don't want to over spend to go 5-7 more mph------I'd rather spend the money on beer and feel like I'm going faster--hahaha Thanks Mike--Tampa Bay
If you drop in a 454 or 496 it shouldn't cost you much more than rebuilding your current motor, if you can do some or most of the work yourself. You will gain reliability, speed, longevity, and possibly savings at the gas dock. Your new motor will run less rpms, last longer, and possibly drink less fuel. If your old parts aren't toast (intake/efi, exhaust, etc) you could likely sell them to cover part of the cost.
