Yes it is running. I have not found the original cause of the ping sound. It has not made the noise again and everything is operating properly. Time will tell.

Glad to hear it's doing ok. It could be one of the inner springs that you can't really see, but at least you have some piece of mind with new springs and new head gaskets..
