Default power loss--Hard starting after sitting for a hour

Over the last 2 years the boat has lost some power. At WOT it will maybe turn 4200. I can sweat it use to hit 4700. Then Today after running it for a hour and a half just cruising and putzing around it took a bunch of cranks to get it to go.

The boat it is a 1986 POWERPLAY 23ft 350 cid 260 hp.

Idle maybe to low ?

the Fuel Pump is maybe original, I have not replaced it and I have owned it since 1986 ?

thanks guys,

Steve

On a 25 year old engine, it could be anything from a maintenance item/tune up to a complete rebuild.

It would also be worth running a compression test to see how healthy the internals are. If it's an '86, it's probably just getting tired.
