I have two like this on my Foutain and they work really well.

Run it and get the bugs out first. When you have it runing right and your use to the boat then if you need more speed go on the swapshop forum you'll find everything you need.

Ok, time for an update. Had it out three times now, had to replace the following: Coil(MSD), Plugs, cap, rotor, Wires added an MSD 6al(allready had it), Alternator, Powersteering pump with external resevoir, Sea water Impellor and housing, all fluids (20qts of ATF used to flush trim and steering). I have also had to work through allot of electrical gremlins(and former hack repairs). Fixed trim sender and limit plus gauge, and new tach. So yesterday since most bugs are worked out, I got a chance to stretch it's legs on a local small lake. 63 mph on GPS with full tank of gas, two full coolers, my wife and I, and a bunch of stupid families with tubes cutting me off routinely. Considering the one test I found from back in the day said a best speed of 63.3, I figue thats pretty good for 660 hours, a rough bottom(slight blistering), and what is essentially a junkyard Bravo1. Question is, what will it do with better conditions and a lighter load? I was at aprox. 4700 rpm

Great boat. I had an 89 with a 454mag and lightning headers. Could hit 69-70 anytime and with a good chop and a light load would do 72mph.

What Prop did you run? The boat came with a cupped 3blade 23p Mirage.

My guess is with a lite load you should be able to pick up about 5 mph. Good to hear ya got the bugs out and were able to enjoy a great day on the water.

25 inch labbed Mirage. Tried various Hydromotives but the Mirage worked best. The Regal's were more bow heavy then the originals and the Mirage carried it better.

We had alot of fun in that boat.

I have a spare bravo 25p prop that came with the boat as well, but the previous owner stated that he couldn't get it to rev over 4600 with that prop, and it was a dog out of the hole.

I am guessing your engine is down on power. )-:
