Whippled 500 EFI Injector help!
I have a Whippled 500 EFI that has a bad fuel injector...does anyone know what pound injector is in there or where I can get a matching replacement? I had them cleaned and bench tested by a diesel injector company and was informed that the one was bad, so I told them just to match one up and they told me they can only buy diesel injectors??? I did not know when dropping them off that an injector company could only buy diesel. Sounds weird to me but that's where I am at and could use some help or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

The injector should say on the side what # it is. Or there should be a part number.

mine are 65lbs. 3.3 ltr.

Many times injectors don't have a part number on them, which can be problematic. I had my injectors cleaned and flowed at WitchHunter Performance. They did a before and after flow/spray pattern analysis. That should tell you what the flow rate for the injector is. Prior to that I knew nothing about the injector other than the brand (Keihin).
Is the injector spray and flow bad? I had one that flowed poorly and had a poor spray pattern. They were able to clean it and get it working correctly again. |

Ideally, I would just like to get one to match the set I have and then get a new set for next year...I just don't know anyone that can do it. |
Looking back at the paperwork, it says they are all within 10% of each other except the bad one.
The number that is on the ones I have are: 6192 17104487 Thanks again for everyone's help! |
Is it the Merc injector or the Whipple one?
I think the Merc ones are 38lb/hr injectors. |

if its a 500EFI with the side mount 2.3l whipple most likely its a stock 38lb injector.....whipple added two injectors at the blower throttlebody to compensate for fuel.... now most people just put in 50lb injectors and block off the extra two

A picture will help with ID'ing the injector. I've found there is horrible support when it comes to injectors from the factory. Part numbers don't cross reference, lack of flow rating etc.

Here is what I found that I have (99% sure that is)...
http://www.racetronix.com/17113738FM.html So I found this on eBay then... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT They look the exact same and the numbers seem to cross reference. What do you guys think? Again the number that is on my injector is 6192 17104487. Seems cheap enough to give it a try. Thanks! |
That injector is a Rochester 50 lb high impedence. I think I have some. I'll check and get back with you.
