Had Our IAC go out and it also blew out our ECM . After dealer replaced IAC , the code would not clear. Hooked up new ECM , code cleared ??? Wondering if anyone else had this issue , can the IAC actually cause an issue with the ECM ?

Since the ecm controls it and the thing is catching on fire yes it can screw up the ecm.

Ok, here's what I found....

Edelbrock part number 36017 is the exact same part as an OEM Merc part.

The best part is that I got it from AJUSA for $76 with free shipping and no tax (outside CA)

http://www.ajusa.com/details/index/2/0/0/EDE%2036017

Here's some pics comparing them.
