Default Bravo 1 lower unit

My friend stopped by to look at my new to me baja and as we were walking around the boat we noticed the lower unit looks shorter than his and another friend of ours bravo 1 lower unit. When I say shorter I mean front to back. From the tip of the nose cone to the back of the unit right before the front side of the prop there units measure 17". Mine only measures 14". I'm new to power boats and never owned a bravo 1 outdrive so I'm just trying to get some insight on what it is I have for a lower unit? The boat is a 1990 baja. It says bravo one on the upper part of the unit and everything else seems to look the same other than this lower unit.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
