What mild thunder was refering to..

when you install a inter cooler you have to plump water through it,,you ill want to install low watrer picp ups on the back of the boat to feed the coolers..at the same time you dont want water going through the coolers at adle on efi engines which will make the injectors puddle and you will have a rich condition, also you will need to install a pressure relief valve so you dont blow the inter coolers with too much water pressure, skipping waver will blow the coolers without a pressure reliev valve..15 psi is a safe number for the coolers..

Yup got it. It will work great i have a low water pick up on my nose cone going to use.

Thank you U

At 10 psi, I would definately add one. If hatch clearance is an issue, you may want to consider a Whipple innercooler. They only add about an inch, but cost quite a bit more.

WOW Wipple looks nice and i bet 1" will work!!! Now does there cooler work as good as the 3" coolers? Not sure with 3 times less surface area?

THANK YOU

i dont like using the ones on the drives,,they are to low and if you get stuck by accident in sand or mud it will plugthe coolers..sorry i failed to mention,,you will also need to install a pair of sea strainers for the coolers to prevent this from happening..their is also a port in the strainer you can plumb the relief valve into then to a hose and to a through hull fitting that you can see while on plane so you can see their working..

Yes i understand buddy. Wow this could be 5gs real fast....:lolhit::lolhit: I wanted to use the drive with a relief valve plumb in to that......but u think no go.:party-smiley-004:

Talked to Dustin at whipple sounds like nose cone is a good feed for there innercooler. I was looking at pics of whipple cooler does it come with intake too?

Thank-you

Yep, they are a combined innercooler and intake manifold. They will cool at least as good and probably better than the standard 3-4" chillers.
They cost more, but if it keeps you from having to modify your hatch, it will be worth it.

10 4 buddy thank u looks like I will go with the whipple. Like u said should drop boost to about 8.5 or so then we will turn the over drive up to get back to about 11.5 boost. That should be a great HP jump!!! Hahaha what is best way to up boost bottom pulley or top? And is there a chart to look at to know about what gear to go with to gain about 4 psi.

Griff 07-22-2011 12:01 PM

I don't know of any charts. The change in boost is also related to CI of the engine. A bigger CI engine, like your yours, will need more of a pulley change than if the same blower was on a 502 to gain the same increase in boost pressure.
Changing only the top pulley will be less $$$ if you can get the ratio right to make the amount of boost that you want.
