Default Jetting with innercooler

Hey guys i am going to be adding a innercooler, it is a 1071 blower. Does this change the jetting big time or not? The water will come from the nose cone so when i am not moving it will not see any cold water. One other thing dont think i have room under hood scoop. Do they make taller scoops or just take scoop off? OR???

Thank you for your help!!

Depends on what kind of scoop you have now. The water from nosecone is good, you dont want anywater at idle. Be sure to put a PSI relief valve on the chiller, you don't want too much psi in it. As for the Jetting, I can't say for sure. If you are upping the boost, you may need to step it up.

A cooler intake charge puts more air molecules into the mix. It will lean out some. Your boost pressures may actually go down 1-2 pounds as well

You think at idle much will change? Idle air mix screw and pump shot?

Thank you Skydog

Idle should not be affected. Might just need some small idle air bleed adjustments.
You will probably have to richen up the jetting a couple sizes, but that depends on how rich it is set up now. If its on the rich side now, you could be fine without any changes.

At 10 psi, I would definately add one. If hatch clearance is an issue, you may want to consider a Whipple innercooler. They only add about an inch, but cost quite a bit more.

What mild thunder was refering to..

when you install a inter cooler you have to plump water through it,,you ill want to install low watrer picp ups on the back of the boat to feed the coolers..at the same time you dont want water going through the coolers at adle on efi engines which will make the injectors puddle and you will have a rich condition, also you will need to install a pressure relief valve so you dont blow the inter coolers with too much water pressure, skipping waver will blow the coolers without a pressure reliev valve..15 psi is a safe number for the coolers..

i see your in ill,,contact VFN fiberglass in addison for taller scoops ,if their too tall you may have to go arizona style and leave them off..
