Not sure what the GPS speedo has to do with the MSD box? Did you check your main breaker?

I am thinking it is my msd box. I just had the motor out and it seems as if the msd was hooker to the battery and the starter by the shop. could this be the reason for the failure?
primary power supply wire to the dash/ignition switch maybe... but the msd does run the ignition and the tach and those bosxes are really junk. check the wire at the dash or and at the master plug at the motor. and throw away the msd anyway and put something good in... like the stock stuff.

My thoughts as well. GPS going haywire makes me think you have an electical issue. Did you check the easy stuff like volts at the battery and alternator?
