So the x dim is the level of the prop axis. I see some boats on here with shorter lower units. I assume that is to raise the x dim and less drag with having the lower unit higher?

Kind of, x dim is the measurement from the engine crank to the bottom of the boat. Propshaft depth is measured from the center of the propshaft to the bottom of the boat.

hey wowchad...could you send me a copy of the engine upgrade article as well? I just had mine rebuilt, but i'm curious what other people say for upgrades compared to what my engine builder recommended.
