Default E-3 plugs in a 454

Heard my fair share of stories with these plugs. Have a twin with stock 454's cast piston!!! have had 3 engines fail! i'm talking about plug ends gone, piston in peices nothing salvagable. msd m2 is this thing just getting to hot/ lean??? any insight would be great its for a friend of mine Thanks alot

Don't run E3's the anode has too much mass and holds heat which will cause pre-ignition or worse detonation. That's why racing plugs have shortened anodes, they cool faster. I'm running the Autolite racing plugs. The old timers use to cut them back and file the ends.
