Yes its for my 26pc. I know they discontinued them and are superceeded by a 8.2 with catslyst. According to everything i read its drop in ready and all i will have to do is reprop it. The 26s actually ran 48 mph when they were equipped with twin v6 which had 205 hp each. If i swap to a single 425hp and have the same weight approx as my 330hp 454 carb i will be at the 48-50mph mark and be a lot more efficient because its fuel injected. Maybe thats not fast for you but thats exactly where i want to be.... thanks for your post though, it helped me out a bunch.

There is nothing wrong with the 496HO i have worked on plenty of them,, you probably will be in the 55mph + range ,,,the 496Ho makes 475lbs of trq,, put a 4 blade SS prop and go
