Huh???

Why would your mechanic being blowing smoke? Aren't you going to buy it from him? Would you have him install it? Wouldn't he make a profit from the sales and installation?
No reason for the mechanic to be considered a liar is there?
I am sure he wishes they weren't on back order too!

I sell parts and you wouldn't believe how many people get upset with me because my supplier has the part on back order. Nobody wants to see my customers get the part more than me, I am in business to sell parts (and earn a living)!

I seriously doubt that your mechanic is "blowing smoke"!
