Rev.limiter????
Does anybody know if all mer. thunder bolt ign. have a rev. limiter, and what rpm it is set at.Here is my problem the tach in the boat says 5500 rpm,a test tach(autometer super comp) says 4600 rpm wide open.If the ign. has a rev. limiter in it for 51 or 5200 then i cant be turning 5500.The motor was a 1993 stock 502.Speedo is saying 70 with a 26 pitch.I will be trying another tach tomorrow to find out which is right.

I think only Thunderbolt V modules come with a rev limiter. If you do have one from the factory it is set to just above the recomended max rpms for your engine. For example the one on my 95 7.4L would come in at 4700 because the max rpm was listed at 4600. Look on your engines to find the max rpms. If you have a factory rev limiter it will be set just a little higher.

My '94 T-bolt IV does have a limiter. Last yr I could spin the motor to 5500 with it hooked up according to my tach.
