Who's done the JR marine gimbal fix?

Hey guys, I'm looking into doing the JR marine gimbal ring fix and was wondering if anyone has done this and any feedback from those who have.

I have a bravo 1, and watched the videos and read the instructinos, and it seems pretty straight forward, but figured I'd check it by you guys before diving straight in!!

How long did it take you guys? How many cases of beer were necessary lol? Etc.

Thanks,

Seth

Took me close to 3 hours, but I did the shift bellows & such also. Get the SS hinge pin, most likely your is corroded.

I'm planning to have them repair the threads in my bravo bellhousing this winter. Seems like they have their poop in a group.

Were there any rough spots encountered? I plan on just taking my time, but I am also not a marine mechanic either.

I did one side last winter. Started the project on Friday afternoon, had a local guy weld up my gimble ring, and was back together Saturday around noon. Was a pretty straight forward job.

If you are reasonably mechanically inclined and follow the instructions precisely and it is a piece of cake. My repair was on a low hour fresh water boat which I am sure helped a lot.

I was gonna use his kit, but, ended up getting a brand new Gimble ring off Ebay for cheap, I did use his stainless steel swivel pin and it was really good quality, I would definately use and recommend his stuff. As others have mentioned Ron is a great fuy to deal with.

Good Luck
Michael
