Just use white vinegar and microfiber that 's all I use on my tips. Works great!!

Unless something scuffed up your tips, they look dull due to hard water deposits. |

I have the air actuated tips to muffle the exhaust note. I beleive they are gill ? They are kinda dull looking. Tried chrome polish on them. Didnt do squat.
Any idea's. I have 3 sets I want to look like new. |
I use white vinegar and steel wool on chrome tips and also the prop.

If they are just crappy looking from the soot/hard water baked on to them, like they said, some "Works" brand toilet bowl cleaner, or what I like to use, "Works" brand tub/shower cleaner. Its like 2-3 bucks a spray bottle at Menards. It sprays on like windex, and works great. Also works from removing scumline and what not.
If you wanna polish them, you can go to sears and get a Rouge buffing kit for your drill. Comes with the Rouge sticks, couple different buffing wheels, for like 10 bucks. After the rouge, a good metal polish. Will look new. |
+4 on vinegar...has mild acid in it and takes the minerals rite off. I wouldnt spend money on anything before you try it and I personally dont like to use anything stronger than needed. I even keep a spray bottle of it in my boat and give them a quick squirt at the sand bar.

I use a metal polish called Wicked. Takes off all exhaust soot and any oxidation.

Just tried out the SIMICHROME stuff with my dremel tool. I used the Simichrome and steel wool on the second tip. Asked the lady which one was the better looking tip. Without hesitation she said the one with the SIMICHROME and Dremel. A lot of work but turned out ok. I would rate them an 8.5 out of 10 as far as how well they turned out. I guess being 20 year old tips, they wont be a 10. lol Thanks for all of the feedback and other tricks of the trade I will try tomorrow on the other 2
