Ive read posts where guys talk about plugging pickup holes w tape to get muffs to work. Is that required for all bravo drive? I have a b1 and just using muffs worked before without plugging any holes. But yesterday I. Couldn't get it to work. Ended up having to pull the line from the transom assm and shoving the hose in it. I know the impeller is good...I checked it after I flushed. Why aren't my muffs working this time?
Also.how do I flush the motor when the boat is still in
water?

The one (only) time I had trouble with the muffs not working on a Bravo was when the impellor had gone south. And even then , that happened just as the boat went on the trailer . 5minutes later it wouldn't pick up water on the hose . Lucky , huh ?
An air leak in the line is another possibility. Maybe that infamous Merc transfer grommet in the transom plate that gets crushed , then leaks from built up corrosion ?
