Default 496 Question.... 5 beeps

After running hard and slowing quickly, I get 5 beeps from my alarm. Boat runs fine after. Oil full, drive res. full, coolant full, PS full, engine temp normal. I'm stumped.

I'd appreciate input

Thanks

John M

Get, borrow or use a shop with a scan tool whcih identify the issue. Everything else is a guess.

Yeap and if its an IAC valve there is a thread on here that will save you some money. I think edelbrock makes the same part for less money

1 or 2 visits to a shop will pay for a scan tool or diag software. It's nice to have, particulary in peak season when you have to wait 2 weeks to get into a shop.

I actually decided to order a scan tool for these very reasons. Thanks for your input.

BTW, I have the PCM 555 manual in front of me and I don't see any condiftion that produces 5 beeps. A lot of things will produce 2 beeps/min. I'm sure the scan tool will point you in the right direction.

Thanks Dave, I haven't been able to find a condition that produces 5 beeps either. Crazy part is the boat runs perfect. It's done this twice, in the last few trips, only after slowing quickly from 60 or faster.
